Buying a home is the biggest single investment
many of us will ever make. It is therefore
essential to protect this costly asset with
the proper insurance cover. Mortgage lenders
insist on the building being covered before
granting a mortgage, and sometimes tie the
mortgagee into their own expensive Household
Insurance scheme at the same time. If this
applies to you, you are probably paying
much more than you need to!
Some people seriously under-estimate, or
even forget their Contents insurance. We
can help you to ensure that you cover the
correct values.
At Jacksons Insurance we have access to
the latest computer quotation network, which
compares hundreds of different products
automatically from our panel of insurers
to find the best deal on the right cover
for you.
Why use Jacksons to arrange your policy?
- Save Time! We compare
all the different offerings and find
the best for you.
- Save Money! Our
Computer System returns the cheapest
quotes we can offer.
- Save Worry! We are
the experts and will ensure you receive
the cover you need.
Let us offer you some tips about Home
Insurance:
Buildings - the bricks and mortar.
It is absolutely
essential that you are covered for the full
cost of rebuilding your home, including
all outbuildings and boundary walls etc.
in addition to the main building. Please
remember that fitted bathrooms and kitchens
are classed as part of the structure of
the building and as such must be included.
We can assist you in calculating the full
reinstatement value, but older houses or
those with special features may require
the services of a professional surveyor.
Contents - your furnishings & belongings
You should go around
the entire property itemising and estimating
replacement values for every item. This
should include carpets and curtains, furniture,
electrical equipment, clothing & bedding
etc. Don't forget the items in your garage
or other outbuildings!
Items which are of particular value usually
need to be specifically itemised on the
policy, and an up-to-date valuation provided.
Personal Possessions
- this section of
the policy covers those items that you remove
from the home, such as jewellery, sports
equipment, cameras etc. Again, items which
are of particular value usually need to
be specifically itemised with an up-to-date
valuation.
Family Legal Expenses
- this is an optional
but worthwhile extension to your household
policy and is useful for example if you
have a problem with newly purchased goods
or services, or when you need to resolve
disputes relating to employment or personal
injury.
